Last spring, Tullahoma High School received the Bonnaroo Works Fund and the Community Foundation Grant of Middle Tennessee. The vision for the grant was to utilize art to inspire students to pursue non-traditional career fields. Through grant funding, THS visual and digital arts students had the opportunity to use their artistic talents to inspire future students to pursue non-traditional career fields.
The grant funds were used to purchase art supplies and materials so that digital and visual arts students could complete the artwork throughout the school’s walls. Today, three hand-painted murals showcase THS students who plan to pursue non-traditional careers in welding, aviation, and nursing. In addition, nine photographs of students pursuing non-traditional careers are displayed near the gymnasium to inspire students to break through stereotypes when choosing future careers.
