Booktopia returns to Northshire Bookstore this weekend

MANCHESTER — On May 2-4, Northshire Bookstore will host Booktopia, a reader’s dream weekend of author talks and bookish fun.

Booktopia 2025 will feature authors Julia Alvarez, Jessica Anya Blau, Harry Bliss, Karla Cornejo Villavicencio, Jennifer Haigh, Jean Hanff Korelitz, Stuart Nadler, Amy Shearn, Shubha Sunder and Helen Whybrow, and interviews by Joe Donahue, Megan Mayhew Bergman, Kim Van Alkemade and the Northshire staff.

Programming on May 2 and 3 will include author talks, panels and signings, book recommendation sessions, industry expert Ann Kingman, book trivia, a celebration dinner, and a Yankee Book Swap.

“I’m so excited for this year’s Booktopia Festival,” said Northshire Bookstore co-owner Nicole Ihasz. “We have an incredible lineup of author events—stories sure to spark conversation, inspiration, and connection. What makes Booktopia truly special is the community it brings together. I can’t wait to welcome this year’s amazing group of readers and writers back to the store!”

The festival will conclude on Sunday, May 4 at the Southern Vermont Arts Center. National Medal of the Arts recipient Julia Alvarez will discuss her book “The Cemetery of Untold Stories,” with fellow author Megan Mayhew Bergman.

Tickets are required to attend Booktopia, and it is possible to reserve a spot for all three days, Saturday and Sunday only, or just Sunday’s event with Julia Alvarez.
