After a disturbance broke out at their Melbourne concert, the Brian Jonestown Massacre unexpectedly canceled the remainder of their Australian tour.

The Laurels were set to open the final leg of the American rock band’s 11-date tour on Friday night, November 24, at the University of Wollongong UniBar in New South Wales.

According to Billboard, eight of those gigs were sold out, including the canceled events Wednesday at Castlemaine’s Theatre Royal and Thursday at Melbourne’s Northcote Theatre.

The venue’s website announced that the show had been canceled “on medical grounds.”

Onstage fighting erupted at the band’s Melbourne gig on Tuesday. A fist fight apparently broke out between the San Francisco-based band’s founder Anton Newcombe, who is known for his crazy onstage antics, and the group’s guitarist Ryan Van Kriedt after only six songs.

Soon after, footage of the incident began spreading on social media, showing the two chasing each other and brutally wresting while on stage. Meanwhile, the remaining band and stage crew worked hard to separate them.

The band has yet to openly address the events of Tuesday’s gig.
