Once inside the vehicle, Tall guy shows off the scanner, which looks like an old school phone with four big buttons.

“That’s your OBD2 port,” he said, showing the port on camera.
He plugs in the scanner and it turns on, reading some codes onscreen.
The tool allows you to read the car’s stored codes, which contain information that could have been hidden by the seller, revealing the true state of the car.
By having this information, shoppers are better equipped at making used car purchases.
“These tools can save you a lot of money,” he said near the end of the clip.
“It can let you know the last time when the codes were reset, if there’s an issue with the transmission or the emission system.
“Invest in one of these right here,” he concludes.
Viewers shared their thoughts in the comments section, with some claiming that they like to take the cars they’re considering buying to an AutoZone in order to ensure that the vehicle is in good health.
“Yea most private sellers aren’t going to let you do that,” replied Tall guy.
