Britney Spears and Her Mother Are Taking ‘Baby Steps’ Toward Mending Fences

Despite reconciling on her 42nd birthday last week, Britney Spears is still unclear what to make of her relationship with her mother, Lynne Spears.

The Grammy-winning singer’s mother, Lynne, and brother, Bryan, attended the party hosted by the star’s manager, Cade Hudson.

Britney’s manager also shared an Instagram photo of her with her brother Bryan, 46, and their mother, 68.

The celebration may have melted some ice, but they still have a long way to go to repair their relationship.

“It’s baby steps,” a source close to Spears told Page Six. “Everyone around Britney is being very careful not to hurt the chances of reconciliation.”

Previously, a source told People Magazine that while Lynne is “really making an effort to be in Britney’s life,” the singer is “still hurt, because she feels her mom could have done more to help her,” during her difficult period.

“Britney and Lynne were talking prior to the birthday party,” according to a source who spoke to Page Six. “For Britney, it’s very hard, it’s very sensitive. It would be good for them to have each other in their lives.”

“Trust is the keyword. Britney has a very hard time trusting people, as do many people in the limelight, but for her it’s even more difficult after everything that has happened,” they continued.

The Gimme More singer’s relationship with her mother has been bad for a long time, ever since she was placed in a very severe conservatorship and publicly chastised Lynne for not sticking by her.
