One of the excerpts that has come out is about Justin Timberlake, and she reveals that the pair had their first kiss at a sleepover party as teens, before they linked up properly in 1999.

Although their relationship was brief and ended in 2002, they had to have an abortion because Timberlake didn’t feel ready to be a father. But, Spears did concede that she made the decision on her own terms.

“It was a surprise, but for me, it wasn’t a tragedy as I loved Justin so much,” goes this Britney Spears book excerpt, according to People.

“He wasn’t happy about the pregnancy. He said we weren’t ready to have a baby in our lives, that we were way too young.

“I always expected us to have a family together one day. This would just be much earlier than I’d anticipated.”

The Britney Spears book excerpt about her conservatorship

Jamie Spears was handed control of his daughter’s affairs when she was struggling with her mental health, but the conservatorship lasted a lot longer than was anticipated.

“I had been so infantilized that I was losing pieces of what made me feel like myself,” she explained, when discussing the conservatorship, again according to People.

“The conservatorship stripped me of my womanhood, made me into a child. I became more of an entity than a person onstage.

“I had always felt music in my bones and my blood; they stole that from me.”

The Britney Spears book excerpt about shaving her head

Of the other topics she discusses, one is when she faced intense pressure and personal invasion from the media who, for example, asked her if her breasts were real or if she had plastic surgery.

So, Spears decided to shave her head as a way of making a statement.

“I’d been eyeballed so much growing up, I’d been looked up and down, had people telling me what they thought of my body, since I was a teenager,” she recalled.

“Shaving my head and acting out were my ways of pushing back.”

The Britney Spears book excerpt about the documentaries

In recent years, Spears had to watch as multiple documentaries were made about her life, with friends speaking about her without so much as a notice or heads-up.

“It felt like every day there was another documentary about me on yet another streaming service,” she said.

“Seeing the documentaries about me was rough.

“I understand that everyone’s heart was in the right place, but I was hurt that some old friend spoke to filmmakers without consulting me first.”
