Bruce Springsteen Surprised Fans with a Charity Show While He Is Still Recovering

Springsteen surprised fans with a surprise mini concert on Monday night during the Stand Up For Heroes benefit show, which was part of the New York Comedy Festival in the David Geffen Hall at the Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts in New York City.

After performing acoustic versions of Addicted to Romance, Dancing in the Dark, The Power of Prayer, and Working on the Highway with John Mellencamp, The Boss stayed for almost half an hour to sing some of his own songs, including acoustic versions of Addicted to Romance, Dancing in the Dark, The Power of Prayer, and Working on the Highway.

Though the 78-year-old musician has performed at the annual event every year, his appearance surprised fans because he was supposed to miss it owing to his ongoing tour with his band, the E Street Band.

However, due to Springsteen’s continuous struggle with peptic ulcer illness, all of the year’s gigs were postponed to 2024.

Despite his illness, it appears that Springsteen was determined not to miss the charity event, which raised more than $14 million for the Bob Woodruff Foundation.
