BTS’ V Enthusiastically Shares Good News with Fans During Military Service

BTS’ V came to the South Korean community platform Weverse to reveal his new look after gaining over 10 kg (22 lbs) during his military enrollment.

The K-pop artist wrote to his followers, giving them an update on his present appearance, saying, “Time for a check-in. Currently weighing in at 72.5kg (160 lbs). Stay tuned for more updates.”

Before signing up for the enlisting, V expressed his desire to gain weight during a live broadcast last year, stating that he hoped to reach the 80 mark and weigh 86 kg (190 lbs) to boost his physical power.

Prior to starting on the military tour, the Dynamite singer kept a thin physique, weighing 62kg (137 lbs) and standing 179 cm (5’10”).

The BTS member enlisted in the military on December 11, 2023, at the Nonsan Army Training Centre in Chungnam.

He is now serving in the military with the second Infantry Division, Ssangyong Uni, in Chuncheon, Gangwon Province.

During the broadcast, the K-pop idol promised the soldiers a comeback, saying: “I’ll bulk up and return.”

Fans were ecstatic with his recent appearance, believing that he will soon attain the desired height.

The member’s discharge date is currently set on June 10, 2025.
