Buda Police Department’s Mental Health Division Boosts Support for Community as Holidays Approach

The Buda Police Department’s Mental Health Division is amplifying its commitment to safeguard mental well-being as the holiday season nears. The department’s trained Mental Health Officers (MHO) aim to protect the welfare of individuals in crisis, offering the highest standard of humane treatment within their available resources as detailed in their Official Facebook page. As the festive season looms, they stand ready to support community members in need.

Beyond their annual in-service training, MHOs to complete TCOLE mandated crisis intervention training. This enhances the Buda Police Department’s mission to foster a better quality of life through proactive police service, ensuring all individuals are treated with respect, dignity, and equality, and building strong community partnerships.

The holiday season, fraught with myriad emotions and stress—both mental and financial—often leaves people feeling overwhelmed. In these challenging times, the Mental Health Division has an open-door policy, inviting individuals who need a listening ear or a refuge from their environment. MHOs Gregg and Zamora have publicized their contact number, 512-312-1001 x530, urging individuals in need of support to promptly reach out.
