Car crashes into Apple Store; Naperville police investigating

NAPERVILLE, Ill. (WLS) — West suburban police are investigating a smash-and-grab burglary that happened at an Apple Store early Monday morning.

Naperville police said just after 6 a.m., they received a 911 call about a vehicle crashing into the store at 120 West Jefferson Avenue.

The car, a beige Hyundai Elantra, struck the building just before 6 a.m. That’s when three suspects entered the store and took an unknown number of electronic devices, a preliminary police investigation showed.

The suspects fled the scene in a dark-colored SUV before police arrived.

Police believe the Hyundai used to crash into the store was stolen out of Lisle.

No injuries were reported and no arrests have been made, police said.

There have been a number of vehicles crashing into retail stores in Chicago over the past few weeks, followed by thieves stealing merchandise.
