Burlington Performing Arts Centre kicks off Festival of Trees today

NEWS RELEASE
BURLINGTON PERFORMING ARTS CENTRE
**********************
It’s the most wonderful time of the year and the Burlington Performing Arts Centre (‘BPAC’) will be aglow with its 7th Annual Festival of Trees from Nov. 22 to Dec. 17, once again made possible by Canadian Tire – Burlington Stores.

Local businesses and organizations have sponsored and generously decorated twenty-eight 6’, pre-lit artificial trees, which will light up BPAC’s Family Lobby for four weeks, until their silent auction ‘winners’ take them home for the holidays. Trees may be viewed during regular box office hours, which are Tuesday to Saturday from noon to 4 p.m., as well as one hour prior to each live performance.

Patrons have the chance to take home one of 28 beautifully and creatively decorated trees, including all decorations and ‘gifts’ used to adorn the tree by entering the Silent Auction. Simply visit BPAC to enjoy the trees and place your bid by 8 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 17. The minimum bid for one of these festive trees, valued at anywhere from $250 to over $800 is $50, and all proceeds support the efforts and initiatives of the charitable, not-for-profit Burlington Performing Arts Centre.

Canadian Tire – Burlington Stores’ vintage truck will be in the BPAC Lobby, serving as a collection depot for the mothers and families of Halton Women’s Place, Shifra Homes and Food 4 Kids. Women’s cozy pj’s and slippers (all sizes), beauty and hygiene products, toiletries, hair products for persons of colour and baby wipes are most-needed items.

Over 10,000 patrons will enjoy this year’s Festival of Trees while attending variety of live performances being offered by BPAC, including Crash Test Dummies (Nov. 25), The Men of the Deeps: Christmas in the Mine (Nov. 26), State Ballet Theatre of Ukraine’s Snow White and The Seven Dwarfs and The Nutcracker (Dec.1 and 2), The Glenn Miller Orchestra: In the Holiday Mood (Dec. 7), Christmas with the Ennis Sisters (Dec. 8) and The Debaters Live on Tour Holiday Special (Dec. 17). BPAC’s Holiday Series is sponsored by Cogeco and the 23/24 ‘BPAC Presents’ Season is sponsored by Mercedes-Benz Burlington.
