WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) – Business and community leaders in Wichita gathered Thursday to learn about how mental health struggles can impact their organizations. The Wichita Business Journal held its inaugural “Mental Health Summit,” an event featuring a keynote speaker and a panel of experts.
The experts spoke on signs of mental health struggles in the workplace and how to connected to workers to support services.
“The financial implications alone of mental health issues in the workplace are gargantuan,” said Mental Health Association of South Central Kansas Director of Development and Communications Eric Litwiller, the summit’s keynote speaker. “We’re losing an estimated $7,000 per employee per year on lost productivity because of untreated mental health concerns.”
