At the Cannes Market, there will be a four-part documentary series about the famous director Tim Burton, who is known as one of the most creative figures in Hollywood.
The documentary is Untitled Tim Burton Documentary and directed by Tara Wood. It features famous people who have worked with Burton in his film career, such as Johnny Depp, Michael Keaton, Helena Bonham Carter, Winona Ryder, composer Danny Elfman, Jenna Ortega, Christopher Walken, Mia Wasikowska, Danny DeVito, and Christoph Waltz. Deadline says that Wood Entertainment will handle the documentary sales at Cannes.
The series is called an “immersive exploration of Burton’s imaginative world,” and it looks into the mind behind Beetlejuice, Edward Scissorhands, Batman, Batman Returns, The Nightmare Before Christmas, Ed Wood, Sleepy Hollow, the Netflix series Wednesday, and many other amazing works.
The documentary has exclusive footage and new interviews, including one with Johnny Depp, who also plays in Jeanne du Barry, the opening-night film of the Cannes Film Festival, which Mawenn directed.
Burton and Depp worked together for the first time on the 1990 movie Edward Scissorhands, and Depp said of Burton, “The most important filmmaker who changed my life completely is Tim. In the very beginning, he’s the guy that fought for me.”
Tim Burton is working on Beetlejuice 2, the long-awaited sequel to his 1988 movie. Michael Keaton, Winona Ryder, Catherine O’Hara, Jenna Ortega, Monica Bellucci, and other big names will be in the cast of the movie.
