Car crash in Kansas City leaves one with life-threatening injuries


KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) – One person suffered critical injuries on Wednesday evening after being involved in a car crash in Kansas City’s East Side neighborhood.

The Kansas City Police Department reported that a black Ford Escape was traveling eastbound on Linwood Boulevard at a high rate of speed about 9:30 p.m.

In the area of Linwood and Cypress Avenue, the vehicle drove off the roadway to the right and struck a metal light pole. The Ford continued eastbound through the grass, struck a parked and unoccupied Silver Acura TSX and then a large tree before coming to rest.

The driver of the Ford was taken to a hospital with life-threatening injuries and was listed in critical condition.

The driver was not wearing a seatbelt, KCPD stated.
