Cardi B is continuing to expand her empire. In a new partnership with Revolve Group, the Dominican-American rapper will soon release a clothing line and beauty brand.
Cardi B is most known for her Grammy-winning music career and her hits like “Bodak Yellow,” “WAP” with Megan Thee Stallion, and “I Like It” featuring Bad Bunny and J Balvin. In the years that followed since her breakthrough, she has proven herself to be a multi-hyphenate star through brand deals with Reebok, Marc Jacobs, and Balenciaga. Now Cardi B is joining forces with Revolve Group to make her mark in the worlds of fashion and beauty.
“People have been expecting both from me,” she said in an interview with Women’s Wear Daily. “My beauty line, people have been expecting that, like an album.”
In her partnership with Revolve Group, Cardi B is developing her own clothing line and beauty brand. In the interview, she reiterated that she’s determined to deliver the “best product” to her fans. As part of the spread in the magazine, Cardi B also wore a white dress that will be a part of her fashion collection.
“I personally believe that I put a lot of people on a lot of trends,” she added. “It’s not even about getting paid, but it’s not appreciated. I gotta do this for me because I don’t get thank yous. It’s time for me to do s**t for my own self, not for everybody else.”
Launching this clothing line is also about her children and the legacy she leaves them. “I have a big career, I’m a big artist and everything. But it’s about what you have to [leave] behind,” Cardi B told Women’s Wear Daily before adding, “It doesn’t suffice how many number-one [hits] I have, or how big my name is. I mean, I am a legend, but if god forbid something happens to me, I don’t want my kids to be fighting with record labels on how much percent they’re going to get with my music.”
Cardi B’s upcoming fashion and beauty endeavors are expected to launch later this year. Her debut album Invasion of Privacy was released back in 2018, so her fans have long awaited her next LP. According to WWD, Cardi B’s second album will finally arrive later this year as well. Last year, she teamed up with Shakira for the collaboration “Puntería.”
