Carlos Alcaraz Wins Wimbledon After Exacting Revenge on Novak Djokovic

In a very close match, Carlos Alcaraz beat Novak Djokovic in the men’s final at Wimbledon on Sunday. The top-ranked Spaniard made it hard for the second-ranked Djokovic to win his third major title in 2023. In the process, Alcaraz, who was only 20 years old at the time, beat a tennis great who was 16 years older than him. Djokovic easily won the first set of the match, 6-1. But the second set was a brutal test for the senior. It stayed on serve until a tough tiebreaker, which Alcaraz won 9-7. This tied the match at one set each and ended Djokovic’s streak of winning 15 straight tiebreakers at Grand Slam tournaments. In the third set, Alcaraz pulled away and won with a score of 6-1. But Djokovic won the fourth set to force a fifth set where the winner takes all. In the end, Alcarez beat the experienced player and won the fifth set, 6-4. Alcaraz won his first Wimbledon title and got back at Djokovic for beating him in the quarterfinals of the French Open back in June.
