The HBO hit White Lotus is receiving a tropical makeover and welcoming a formidable actress to its sandy shores. Carrie Coon, an acclaimed star, has been formally confirmed to join the cast of the show’s highly anticipated third season, paving the way for another round of sun-drenched drama and dark comedy.
Coon, well known for her compelling performances in HBO’s The Leftovers and The Gilded Age, will leave her comfort zone of New York and Hawaii for this new journey.
While details about her character and the season’s setting remain unknown, speculations suggest a move to Thailand, providing a new backdrop for White Lotus’ characteristic blend of social satire and psychological mystery.
Coon joins previously confirmed performers Natasha Rothwell (who will reprise her role) and franchise newbies Leslie Bibb, Dom Hetrakul, Jason Isaacs, Michelle Monaghan, Parker Posey, and Tayme Thapthimthong in an expanding roster that is likely to grow rapidly.
HBO and Thailand’s Tourism Authority have joined together to help with the season’s filming and production.
Coon is represented by UTA, Foundation Talent, and Peikoff Mahan. Her credits include Ghostbusters: Afterlife, The Leftovers on HBO, and Fargo on FX.
Formal casting for additional roles is expected in the coming weeks as preproduction ramps up.
