HELENA, Mont. – The Carroll College Men’s Basketball team are on the road again, this time for nearly a month, starting with a two game swing in La Grande, Ore. where they will play host-school Eastern Oregon and Walla Walla (Wash.) in the Quinn Classic.

The Fighting Saints (2-2) had a successful opening home-stand, beating Embry-Riddle (Ariz.) and Corban (Ore.) last weekend in Helena. This week, a pair of Cascade Collegiate Conference teams are on the docket.

Carroll will play Eastern Oregon on Friday night a 8 p.m. (MDT), and cap their weekend with a 7:30 p.m. matchup with Walla Walla on Saturday.

After a rocky start to the 2023-24 season, the Saints appear to be gelling as a unit, and have improved as a team in each of the last three games.

Andrew Cook (Huntington Beach, Calif. / JR), to the surprise of no one, has been outstanding in the early portion of the year. The preseason All-Frontier Conference selection is averaging just shy of 20 points per game, and leads the team with 29 total rebounds.

Zane Foster (Puyallup, Wash. / JR) is starting to show why he was named his conference’s Defensive Player of the Year at his prior school. Foster has been a menace in the paint, with 11 total blocks on the year, and many more to come.

The addition of a true point guard, Kendall Moore (Dayton, Ohio / JR) is paying dividends for the Saints as well. Moore has impressed through four games, and is second on the team in points per game (12.3).

Friday night’s 8 p.m. matchup with the Mountaineers will have some familiar faces, with the Mountaineers’ Malachai Afework and Jonny Hillman, who each started their collegiate careers in Helena.

The Mountaineers are winless on the season, having already played multiple Frontier Conference schools (Montana Tech, Montana Western), and Carroll will aim to continue the trend on Friday.

The Wolves of Walla Walla are a little more anonymous, and have only played one countable contest so far this season. The Wolves beat Whitman College 80-76 in October.

Both games will be streamed live HERE, and live stats can be followed along HERE.
