WILLIAMSBURG — The Fourth Annual Cars for Chris Car Show is set to take place at the Williamsburg-Jamestown Airport on Saturday from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m.
This event, held in memory of Christopher King, aims to raise awareness and educate the community about safe driving practices, especially among youth.
The Cars for Chris Car Show has become a cornerstone event in these efforts, drawing significant community support and participation.
Since its inception, the Cars for Chris Car Show has raised over $27,000, funding educational programs in schools and community events that emphasize the importance of seat belt usage and the dangers of distracted driving.
Last year’s event saw over 500 attendees and featured more than 100 cars, demonstrating the strong community commitment to this cause.
“We are thrilled to see the continued growth and support for the Cars for Chris Car Show,” said Christy King, Executive Director of the Christopher King Foundation. “Each year, this event not only honors Christopher’s memory, but also strengthens our resolve to educate and protect young drivers. We’re excited to introduce new features this year, like the Kids Zone and distracted driving awareness area, to further engage our community.”
Highlights of the show will feature over 100 classic, vintage, and custom cars, an area dedicated to engaging and educating children about road safety as well as a Distracted Driving Awareness Area.
The Christopher King Foundation is a Williamsburg-based nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting safe driving habits, the importance of using seat belts, and the danger of distracted driving with children through adults.
Founded following the tragic loss of Christopher King in a car crash caused by a reckless driver, the foundation has worked to educate and advocate for responsible driving practices to prevent tragedies caused by reckless and distracted driving.
The Christopher King Foundation also announced that this year they joined other victims of distracted driving on Capitol Hill for the Road to Zero to advocate for stronger road safety policies and accountability.
