Cassie’s Lawsuit Prompts Kesha to Remove Diddy from Her Most Famous Song

Following his legal squabble with Cassie, Kesha has deleted Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs’ name from one of her most popular songs.

During the Saturday Los Angeles stop of her Only Love tour, the 36-year-old singer-songwriter made her views on the now-dismissed case crystal apparent.

Though the song’s original opening line is “Wake up in the morning feeling like P. Diddy,” with “P. Diddy” referring to one of Combs’ most famous moniker, a video circulating on X (previously Twitter) showed Kesha singing the unrecognizable lyric, “Wake up in the morning feeling just like me.”

Fans appeared to approve of the lyric change, with one praising Kesha’s “Queen behavior” and another noting, “Nobody wants to associate with P. Diddy no more [sic].”

The lyric change follows Cassie’s lawsuit against her ex-boyfriend Diddy, whom she accused of decade-long physical, emotional, and sexual abuse, including rape and sex trafficking, from the time they met in 2005 – when she was 19 and he was 36 – until their relationship ended in 2018.

Diddy has categorically refuted the allegations, and the couple declared on Friday that they will “resolve this matter amicably.”

The complaint was finally rejected by the court on Monday.
