There are few things worse than being poked and prodded at when you’re relaxing to your favorite song. And one cat can relate to the very human experience.

A social media video that captures a cat being struck by his brother while he “vibed to music” has left viewers laughing.

The viral clip, which has been viewed more than 2.1 million times since it was shared to TikTok on Thursday, shows the second cat swatting his brother on the head while he “listened to music.”

To the amusement of viewers, the ginger cat, who is named Diesel, had been bobbing his head along to “It’s Raining Men,” a 1983 hit by the Weather Girls.

“When you’re just vibing to some music and your stupid brother has to ruin your good time,” the cats’ owner wrote on the clip.

The post was captioned: “Some of you might not have known this but Diesel is a huge fan of the weather girls.”

Do Cats Like Music?

Apparently so. Pet insurer Petplan says they might even have a penchant for tunes.

However, while research “suggests” that cats might like music, “they don’t care much for human tunes,” Petplan says on its website.

“[They] respond better to ‘species-appropriate’ songs with frequencies and tempos that mimic the sounds of purring and birds,” Petplan says.

A study by the University of Wisconsin determined that pets like to listen to music that fits into how animals communicate.

Since it was shared to TikTok on Thursday by @lokidoestricks, the post has been liked by over 431,000 users and commented on more than 800 times. TikTokers have been expressing their amusement at the clip and their own funny takes on it.

“Have never seen a cat bob along to music before,” one wrote.

Another user added: “He was like ‘quit acting human, you’re a cat act like one.’”

“The fact that the slap lines up with the music perfectly,” a third user wrote.

Another TikToker joked: “He was totally jamming!”

“I mean, Loki did bopped him on the beat, which is very impressive timing,” another user wrote.
