According to the American Academy of Dermatology, 40% of women in the US will be affected by hair loss by the time they’re 40. In recent years celebrities have started to speak out about their own experiences with hair loss, helping to destigmatize the issue. 1. Jada Pinkett Smith The actress suffers from alopecia. She recently revealed that the disorder has left a faint line on the top of her head. Smith is choosing to embrace her hair loss, writing in an Instagram post, “Me and this alopecia are going to be friends … period!”. 2. Alyssa Milano Milano started losing her hair as a result of long COVID. In Aug. 2020 she posted a video on Instagram showing how much of her hair falls out when she brushes it. 3. Viola Davis In 2014 the oscar winner revealed that she lost half of her hair due to alopecia. Davis soon realized that her condition was caused by stress. 4. Drake Drake also had long COVID related hair loss. He revealed the news after a fan made fun of the heart design he had in his hairline. The rapper commented that his hair “grew in weird” and he had to “start again”.
