Celine Dion could be hinting at a comeback after battling a serious illness for some years.
After disappearing for two years due to a terrible illness, Celine Dion reappeared in Las Vegas.
On Saturday, she was spotted in the audience at the Resorts World Theatre for Katy Perry’s final night of her residency, which Dion had to cancel two years prior.
During Perry’s farewell performance, Dion’s presence in the crowd drew even more attention than Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.
Cameron Diaz and her husband, Benji Madden of Good Charlotte, and Zoe Saldana were among the other celebs that saw Perry off, according to news reports or fan videos.
Dion’s appearance at Perry’s show was cited by John Katsilometes, the Las Vegas Review-Journal’s top entertainment columnist, as further confirmation that the singer will eventually be allowed to resume her Resorts World residency.
According to Katsilometes, AEG personnel have already voiced “optimism” about Dion’s comeback to the stage, noting, “Dion was seen dancing throughout the show, giving fans and officials more confidence she can return to the stage in 2024.”
On his X (previously Twitter) account, the writer speculated on her possible comeback date, adding, “I’m optimistic about her return next year. Maybe in the spring, even … Merely an educated assessment.”
