The Champions League is back! After some time away, the Champions League Group Stage will be back in business on Wednesday. Atletico Madrid will hit the road to play their first game against Celtic in the Group Stage at 3:00 p.m. ET at Celtic Park. While all four teams are eyeing the Round of 16, only the top two teams in the group (Group E) will make it there.
Atletico Madrid and Feyenoord combined for ten shots on goal on October 4th, which explains the impressive five total goals scored. Atletico Madrid won by a goal and slipped past Feyenoord 3-2. The last goal Atletico Madrid scored came from Álvaro Morata in minute 47.
Meanwhile, while it was all tied up 1-1 at halftime, Celtic was not quite Lazio’s equal in the second half on October 4th. Celtic fell just short of Lazio by a score of 2-1.
Atletico Madrid now has a winning record of 1-1-0. As for Celtic, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-0-2.
With both teams competing for one of the most prestigious honors in soccer on Wednesday, it’s safe to say the stakes are high. There’s only one way to know which team cracks under pressure and which rises to the occasion.
Odds
Atletico Madrid is the favorite in this one, according to the latest Champions League odds, being -103 to win.
The over/under is set at 2.5 goals.
