
Area residents can get moving at a workshop led by the Healthy Lifestyle Program on Nov. 11 at Compton Park in Alexandria.
The “Move to Improve Your Groove” workshop is funded by The Rapides Foundation and administered by the Cenla Medication Access Program. The Healthy Lifestyle Program “provides nutrition and physical activity counseling to Central Louisiana residents,” reads a news release.
“Staff will lead and supervise the Movement Workshop, which is free for Central Louisiana residents of all ages and fitness levels,” the release said. “Families are welcome.”

At the workshop, people will learn how to create total body movement plans, how to move their bodies from heads to toes, how daily movement can improve their health and how to have more mobility that is sustainable and adaptable for them.
The workshop starts at 9 a.m. at the park, which is on Wakefield Boulevard next to Nachman Elementary School.
