MADISON, Wis. (WMTV) – The Center for Black Excellence and Culture announced Tuesday that Jason Fields would be appointed as chief operating officer.
The former state lawmaker was most recently head of the Madison Region Economic Partnership.
Fields said that he is excited to help lay the foundation for continuously building Black excellence.
“I am deeply honored and excited to join The Center’s team,” said Fields. “Growing up in Wisconsin, I was raised and inspired by those who demonstrated Black excellence and its possibilities. The Center represents the freedom of intellectual arts and culture and leadership for future generations.”
The Center said that Fields will oversee both day-to-day operations and build connections with leaders, businesses and organizations in order to create opportunities for personal, professional and cultural growth.
