  1. DIY Potpourri: Enjoy nature’s fragrance by making your DIY potpourri. You can use dry leaves and herbs with rose, and marigold petals. You can also add cinnamon sticks, cloves, and dried citrus peels. Put this mix in pretty bowls around your home. When the wind blows, it will smell like a beautiful garden.

  1. Scented Balls: Craft scented balls using a mixture of essential oils and dried petals of your favourite flowers. Roll them into small spheres and let them dry naturally. Hang these scented balls in sachets or place them in woven baskets, bringing the fresh, earthy aroma of nature into your living spaces.

  1. Candle Charm: Brighten your home with glowing scented candles. Opt for fragrances like cedarwood, citrus, rose, and eucalyptus to infuse the natural soothing smell all around. Put these candles on wooden trays or in terracotta holders to create a cozy atmosphere with a comforting nature touch.

  1. Sacred Incense Sticks: Light up the claiming natural incense sticks or cones made from dry sacred flowers, woods, and resins. Pick fragrances like sandalwood, lavender, etc which smell very nice. During your Navratri pooja rituals light them up or when you meditate to turn your home into a peaceful and calm place.

  • Mandap Seating: Create comfortable seating arrangements using brightly-coloured pillows and blankets. Put a small mandap (canopy) made by wood or a cane in a corner and embellish it with a marigold necklace or multi-colour textiles.
  • Chowki Pooja Corner: Opt for smaller items like wooden/metal chowki (low stool tables) to place your deity on them. Let them experience the taste of different traditional foods like Murukku and Sakkarai Pongal. Dress them up in traditional costumes and rangoli design to make it more festive looking.
  1. Rugs:
  • Rangoli Inspired Rugs: Instead of age-old rangoli, try rugs that have rangoli patterns. For instance, rugs with stunning colours and patterns can be used in the entrance or the living room as they help beautify these spaces.
  • Printed Dhurries (A dhurrie is an Indian or Pakistani handwoven rug or a thin flat carpet, an item of home furnishing): Go for strong colours and established designs, printed in order to catch the eye and complement your Navratri decor.
