COLUMBIA, S.C. – The Coastal Carolina women’s tennis team began its 2024 spring season today, as the Chants took on the South Carolina Gamecocks in Columbia, S.C. from the Carolina Indoor Tennis Center.
The Chants were unable to secure the doubles point against the Gamecocks to start the day, as USC took all three doubles matches by scores of 6-1, 6-3 and 5-3. In singles play, Coastal was unable to best any of the Carolina challengers, dropping three of the six individual matchups. Senior Kata Foldeak recorded the lone winning set for the Chants against USC’s Elise Mills 6-3, but their match was cut short due to a 4-0 match decision in favor of the Gamecocks.
CCU returns home for their next match against Wofford in their home opener on Sat, Jan. 27, starting at 12 P.M. ET at the Stevens Tennis Complex.
