It’s always a good day when Charlotte Tilbury launches a product, and today, she’s treating us to not one, but two brand new additions to her cosmetics and skincare ranges. Alongside the highly anticipated Exagger-Eyes Mascara – the brand’s third mascara launch to-date – there are also new under-eye patches which come with some hefty promises.
Charlotte’s Hollywood Skin Secrets Immediate Eye Revival Patches, £58 for 60, aren’t exactly cheap, but those struggling with crepey under-eye skin and dark circles may be willing to pay the premium price seeing as they claim to brighten, smooth and hydrate under-eyes in as little as 10 minutes.
The patches are designed to hug every curve of your face with a non-slip, non-drip design – like a mini eye-lift in your pocket. With ultra-hydrating absorb and lock technology, these gel-like cushions prime your skin perfectly for makeup while the powerful serum absorbs fast to visibly reduce dark circles, puffiness, and fine lines while boosting hydration and skin elasticity.
Our head of beauty Zoe – a Charlotte Tilbury superfan who struggles with tired-looking and dry under-eyes – put the new patches to the test and shares her thoughts…
Pros
+ The patches are very thin and fully saturated in skincare goodness
+ They work very quickly, offering results in ten minutes
+ They feel nice, soothing and cooling under the eyes, and give no sting on initial application
+ They give a very nice, priming base for make-up as the residual serum gives grip without feeling tacky
Cons
+ Because the patches are so thin, they’re a little tricky to separate from each other – even with the spatula
+ They’re very slippery. Up to the 10 minutes, I struggled to keep them from sliding down to my cheeks. After that (I left them on for 15) they stuck much better
+ The ‘U’ shape of them didn’t fit my eye shape very well, meaning I couldn’t get the patches up where I really needed them directly under the middle of my eyes
+ The plastic container packaging feels a little bit cheap for Charlotte Tilbury

I’m lucky that I don’t suffer from big under-eye bags, but I do get very dry and crepey skin, so I often turn to hydrogel patches to brighten and smooth the area – especially if I know I’m going to be applying concealer, which really creases on me when I don’t prep properly.
I’m a big Charlotte Tilbury fan and I use the Magic Cream every morning, which is why I was sad that I felt a little disappointed by the look of these. The red outer box was lovely and luxe but the pot containing the patches is plastic-y and a little cheap looking. The red text stickers look a little…haphazard. Not what I would expect from such a sleek and aesthetic brand. I suppose with a price tag of £58 (for 30 pairs) I would be expecting a more luxe-feeling spatula instead of a plastic one.
I will say that Tilbury hasn’t skimped on the serum in the pot – each eye gel comes fully saturated in the liquid, which is perhaps where the price becomes slightly more justified. I also both liked and disliked how thin the patches were; liked because it meant it didn’t feel heavy and dry under my eyes while wearing them but also they were tricky to pry away from each other without breaking.

My final niggle was that they have a very curvy ‘U’ shape to them, which didn’t really fit my under-eye shape. I struggled to position them in a way where they coated the centre of my under-eyes – my main problem area. My slight shape and packaging impressions aside, I did really like the results.
After 10 minutes on my skin (I had to tilt my head back a little to keep them securely in place while they ‘set’ for the first few minutes) I peeled them off to reveal very bright under-eyes. The residual serum also dried down into the perfect base for a concealer – not tacky but with some grip. I tested putting my heavy under-eye concealer on after using these patches and I really didn’t get any creasing at all.
I will be using these again because they definitely made me look more awake. Because of the price, I’ll probably save them for special occasions, though.
If you’re on the hunt for good hydrogel patches at a slightly lower price, I can also highly recommend Nip + Fab Jelly Eye Patches for Under Eye, £15.96.
