Chattanooga Music Club Offers Scholarships for High School Seniors Pursuing Music – Hits 96

Aspiring musicians in their final year of high school have the opportunity to pursue their dreams with the Chattanooga Music Club‘s scholarship program. The club will be awarding scholarships ranging from $1000 to $3000 during a live audition competition set to take place on Sunday, March 17th, 2024.

High school seniors with a passion for music, whether vocalists or instrumentalists, are encouraged to apply by Monday, March 4th. The audition competition promises an exciting platform for talented individuals to showcase their skills and vie for these prestigious awards.

To be eligible, participants must reside within a 40-mile radius of Chattanooga City Hall. Additionally, applicants are required to prepare a program of contrasting styles and periods, with a total duration not exceeding 9 minutes. While excerpts are accepted, one of the pieces must be memorized. Vocalists and instrumentalists are responsible for arranging their own accompanists, although pre-recorded accompaniment will not be accepted. Traditional black performance wear, akin to school ensemble dress codes, is mandatory attire for all participants.

The winners of these scholarships will be announced on the day of the auditions, following deliberations by the panel of judges. Those selected will also have the opportunity to showcase their talents at the Chattanooga Music Club Recital for Scholarship Winners, scheduled for April 14, 2024, from 3:00 pm to 5:30 pm.

For further inquiries or to apply, interested individuals are encouraged to contact the Scholarship Committee at [email protected] or visit the Chattanooga Music Club’s official website at chattanoogamusicclub.org.

This initiative not only provides financial support but also serves as a platform for nurturing young musical talent, fostering a vibrant arts community in Chattanooga.
