The Chief Photographer is also responsible for shooting and editing video/sound for broadcast, digital, and social media platforms on a daily basis. The ideal candidate will have a positive attitude, a strong desire to develop the visual storytelling capabilities of our staff, a proven record of producing award-winning content and teams, and be energized daily by a high-paced news environment.Duties/Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:* Responsible for the supervision and training of photojournalist staff* Maintenance of all photography gear, broadband/bonded cellular live devices (Dejero, LiveU or similar)* Management, assignment, and oversight of station vehicles belonging to the news department.
Regular communication and coordination with the Engineering Department for gear and vehicle maintenance, repair, insurance certification, etc.* Responsible for shooting and editing video and sound for broadcast and publication on all of the station’s multimedia platforms.* Must display a high competence and proven skillset in videography and video editing, including journalistic and ethical integrity* Must be capable of gathering news independently or as part of a team* Driving a company vehicle and/or operating station’s microwave van, as assigned* Posting content on the station’s digital platforms and editing digital video* Regular travel as assigned for news coverage* Other duties as assignedQualifications/Requirements:* 5+ years experience as a videographer and video editor (previous experience as a Chief Photographer preferred)* Must hold a valid driver’s license and a good driving record* Must be willing to work flexible hours and a variety of shifts including but not limited to mornings, afternoons, late nights, holidays, weekends, and possible overtime hours* Meet tight deadlines and work well under pressure* Must have the desire to be at work during big breaking news, weather coverage, and special events* Must be able to stand, sit, lift/carry up to 50 lbs. and capable of working in all outdoor elements, as assignedQualified, interested applicants may go to
