https://bit.ly/3wcurtbJob Summary/Description:Alaska’s News Source is looking for a Chief Photographer with proven management experience to assist with the mentorship and supervision of our photojournalist staff, photography gear, vehicles, and broadband equipment. The Chief Photographer is also responsible for shooting and editing video/sound for broadcast, digital, and social media platforms on a daily basis. The ideal candidate will have a positive attitude, a strong desire to develop the visual storytelling capabilities of our staff, a proven record of producing award-winning content and teams, and be energized daily by a high-paced news environment.Duties/Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:* Responsible for the supervision and training of photojournalist staff* Maintenance of all photography gear, broadband/bonded cellular live devices (Dejero, LiveU or similar)* Management, assignment, and oversight of station vehicles belonging to the news department.

Regular communication and coordination with the Engineering Department for gear and vehicle maintenance, repair, insurance certification, etc.* Responsible for shooting and editing video and sound for broadcast and publication on all of the station’s multimedia platforms.* Must display a high competence and proven skillset in videography and video editing, including journalistic and ethical integrity* Must be capable of gathering news independently or as part of a team* Driving a company vehicle and/or operating station’s microwave van, as assigned* Posting content on the station’s digital platforms and editing digital video* Regular travel as assigned for news coverage* Other duties as assignedQualifications/Requirements:* 5+ years experience as a videographer and video editor (previous experience as a Chief Photographer preferred)* Must hold a valid driver’s license and a good driving record* Must be willing to work flexible hours and a variety of shifts including but not limited to mornings, afternoons, late nights, holidays, weekends, and possible overtime hours* Meet tight deadlines and work well under pressure* Must have the desire to be at work during big breaking news, weather coverage, and special events* Must be able to stand, sit, lift/carry up to 50 lbs. and capable of working in all outdoor elements, as assignedQualified, interested applicants may go to
