Chris Carter recently said that The X-Files would be brought back, but without its main cast.
Carter told The Hollywood Reporter, “People want more in the future. We just have to figure out how to give it to them.”
It’s important to note that Carter will give the job of directing to Ryan Coogler, who is best known for making the movie Black Panther.
Earlier, Carter said on the podcast On the Coast with Gloria Macarenko, “I just talked to a young man named Ryan Coogler who is going to recast The X-Files with a diverse group of actors.”
“So, he has a lot of work to do because we covered so much ground,” Carter said.
The news source said that 20th Television had not made an official announcement.
Carter also disclosed that Gillian Anderson and David Duchovny, who portrayed FBI Special Agents Mulder and Scully for eleven seasons and two films beginning in 1993, will not return for the new series.
