Chris Martin of Coldplay Plays ‘Barbie Girl’ at a Concert

Chris Martin, the lead singer of Coldplay, played Barbie Girl on stage in Amsterdam to make a fan’s wish come true.

On July 16, the popular band Coldplay played a live show in Amsterdam. They picked two lucky concertgoers from the crowd to join the lead singer at the mic.

One of Martin’s most loyal fans asked him to “Play Barbie girl.” But when the singer of “Sky Full of Stars” heard the request, he was confused. Still, he was a gentleman and tried to sing the song so that his fan would be happy.

Martin asked the fan, “Who comes to a Coldplay show and asks for Barbie Girl?” He also told the female fan ahead of time that he hadn’t heard the song in almost 30 years, in case he failed to make her laugh.

“I haven’t heard this for, like, 30 years, but I’ll try,” said the singer.

The singer from the band Fix You tried to play the song on his piano. Hearing Martin sing “Life in plastic, it’s fantastic” was a real treat for the people in the crowd.

Metro.co.uk says that he got a little lost with the words in the middle, but he also said that his memory isn’t the best.

Chris Martin then gave the fan a high five and told her, “Barbie Girl, done, complete.”
