Kevin Costner and his ex-wife Christine Baumgartner have chosen to settle their divorce in a fair way.
Four months after the Yellowstone actor’s wife sued to end their 18-year marriage, they told E! News on September 19 that they “have come to an amicable and mutually agreed upon resolution of all issues related to their divorce proceedings.”
Many people who have been paying attention to the case over the past few weeks may be surprised by the decision.
In fact, Baumgartner and Costner have been fighting over the monthly child support payments for their 16-year-old son Cayden, 14-year-old daughter Hayes, and 13-year-old daughter Grace. Costner recently called the court hearings “a horrible place to be.”
“It feels so bad,” he told Access Hollywood. “we’re talking about somebody I love on the other side…I just can’t.”
Even though they were on opposite sides of the courtroom, the 68-year-old did admit that he still loved his 49-year-old ex-wife.
The couple who got married in 2004 first said they were getting a divorce in May.
E! News reported at the time that a spokesperson for Costner said, “It is with great sadness that circumstances beyond his control have transpired which have resulted in Mr. Costner having to participate in a dissolution of marriage action.”
“We ask that his, Christine’s and their children’s privacy be respected as they navigate this difficult time.”
