Cillian Murphy Finally Speaks Out About Playing James Bond in the Future

Cillian Murphy, who is enjoying his success with Oppenheimer, recently spoke out about wanting to play James Bond in the future.

Cillian told The Telegraph that he wasn’t sure if he wanted to play the famous part of 007 in the next movie, which is rumored to be directed by Christopher Nolan.

The actor from the show Peaky Blinders said, “A woman should play Bond role.”

Nolan, on the other hand, is known for working with stars like Christian Bale and Cillian. In an interview with the same publication, he said that directing the next Bond movie is a great honor for him.

But he put forward a special condition: he wanted to choose the actor he wanted to play 007 himself.

Cillian replied, “I’m not James Bond, man, that ship has sailed.”

In the meantime, the actor showed interest in playing other parts in Nolan’s new project.

Cillian talked about Nolan’s 2014 movie Interstellar in another chat with The Independent.

“I adore ‘Interstellar’ just because I find it so emotional. It just had a big impact on me. It broke my heart,” the star said.

When asked which movie he and Oppenheimer should watch together, Cillian suggested “Interstellar and Dunkirk.”

“You could go Interstellar, which explores similar scientific, physic themes. Or you could watch Dunkirk, which is also set in World War II, and shorter, so that might be a good match ‘cause it’s like an hour-and-a-half, and then you can go into Oppenheimer,” he said.
