Cincinnati Nominated for Best Street Art in the Country

You can’t walk a few blocks in downtown Cincinnati or Over-the-Rhine without seeing a beautiful work of street art. From the beloved Toy Heritage mural on Court Street and the Golden Muse near Washington Park to the Black Lives Matter mural painted along the road in front of City Hall, Cincinnati’s urban core is packed with colorful details that make our city more vibrant.

Now, you have the chance to vote for Cincinnati’s artwork in USA Today’s 10Best Readers’ Choice Award contest for Best City for Street Art. The Queen City was nominated as one of 20 cities up for the honor by a panel of experts that includes USA Today editors, 10Best.com editors and influential contributors. This is Cincinnati’s fifth consecutive appearance in the category — which it won for the first time last year.

“Street art is more than just eye-catching; it speaks to a city’s culture and personality, and it belongs to the entire community in a way few other forms of art can claim. These 20 cities — nominated by an expert panel — boast some of America’s most extraordinary collections of public art,” reads the category description.

The poll highlights that Cincinnati is home to over 300 public murals and 14,000 public and private art projects, thanks to ArtWorks Cincinnati.

The poll is currently open for votes. You can vote once a day until the poll closes at noon on Monday, Feb. 17. The winning cities will be announced on Wednesday, Feb. 26.
