PHILADELPHIA – In anticipation of another exciting postseason run for the Philadelphia Phillies, the City of Philadelphia will be putting public safety measures into place ahead of the upcoming scheduled National League Championship Series (NLCS) games, in which the Philadelphia Phillies will host the Arizona Diamondbacks at Citizens Bank Park on Monday, October 23, and Tuesday, October 24 (*if necessary).
“It’s been an electrifying postseason so far, and Philadelphia is united behind our beloved Phillies as they return home for Game 6,” said Mayor Jim Kenney. “Philadelphia has some of the world’s best fans and we encourage fans to cheer on safely and responsibly and wish the Phillies good luck as this exciting series continues.”
Parking Restrictions and Car Relocation
Beginning Monday, October 23 residents and businesses may begin to see “Temporary No Parking Signs” along the South Broad Street corridor, around City Hall, and along Frankford Avenue and Cottman Avenue .
The “No Parking Zone” will go into effect for the upcoming NLCS games beginning at 12 p.m. on Monday. Vehicles parked in these locations during posted hours may be relocated. If you believe your car has been relocated, call the police district of the area where your car was parked.
Possible Road Closures
At the conclusion of the upcoming NLCS games, temporary traffic closures may be put into place to maintain public safety at the Sports Complex District and in the vicinity of City Hall and surrounding Center City streets between 13th and 15th Streets and Race and Lombard Streets.
Travel delays can be expected and motorists are advised to avoid the area by using alternate routes, and allow for extra driving time when traveling in the vicinity.
Travelers should follow all posted signs, detours and traffic control devices.
Public Transportation
At the conclusion of the upcoming NLCS games, temporary SEPTA route detours may be put into place and service is subject to change. Customers should refer to the System Status regularly for updates to routing throughout the day.

Public Safety Information
During NLCS game days, the City will provide law-enforcement support, traffic control, and emergency medical services at the Sports Complex District and other key locations for public safety.
Additional protocols for the upcoming NLCS games are being evaluated by the Philadelphia Police Department and our public safety partners. Based on prior experience in these situations, and to control the flow of crowds, barricades have been put into place at key locations for public safety. In addition, the public should expect congestion in these areas. If you are attending the game, make a plan regarding driving, public transit, parking, and supervision of children. It is recommended that attendees wear comfortable, weather-appropriate attire.
When attending outdoor events or gatherings, make sure you are staying weather aware by following the forecast from your trusted source. Severe weather hazards may cause public safety officials to clear crowds from open areas and for you to seek shelter. Please follow the direction of the public safety officials on site.
The FAA prohibits drone usage over crowds. If you see a drone, report it and the location of the operator to the closest public safety official.
Leave no bags or items unattended. In an emergency or to report a suspicious person, activity or item (a backpack, a package, a container), notify a police officer immediately or call 9-1-1. Do not try to open, move, cover or touch a suspicious item.
