The Redlands Bowl’s Summer Music Festival begins in less than three weeks, providing free performances to the public until mid-August. The city is throwing its support for the annual event by providing in-kind support for $42,275, covering public safety and city community service personnel. The Redlands City Council unanimously approved the amount on Tuesday, June 3. Council members passed the amount without discussion.

For more than a century, the nonprofit Redlands Bowl Performing Arts (RBPA) has proudly served as a vibrant hub for artistic expression, offering a wide range of performances and events for the community to enjoy without any admission fees. This longstanding tradition has welcomed local artists and visiting talent alike, showcasing everything from music and dance to theater and visual arts. Through community donations, the Redlands Bowl has ensured that cultural experiences are accessible to everyone, regardless of background. The summer event draws large crowds every year. RBPA anticipates that over 100,000 visitors will make their way to the amphitheater’s seats and the surrounding areas.

In addition to the upcoming musical events hosted at the Redlands Bowl, RBPA also hosts a series of children’s workshops, with many headliners performing at the Bowl leading these workshops. The Children’s Music Festival Workshops are available from July to August, twice a week. Workshop classes welcome children ages 4 to 12. Parents or guardians must accompany children at all times.

Workshop classes are free and do not require a reservation. All classes are at The Contemporary Club at 173 S. Eureka Street or at the Redlands Community Center at 111 W. Lugonia Avenue.

RBPA’s in-kind support also includes street closures of Eureka Street, between W. Vine Street and W. Olive Avenue, and Grant Street, between the Joselyn Senior Center parking lot driveway and W. Olive Street. All events start at 8 p.m. on Tuesdays and Fridays through Aug. 15 at Redlands Bowl, at 25 Grant Street, Redlands. All street closures will be in place between 4 p.m. and 10 p.m.

Two Redlands Police officers will be posted at every performance, along with the city’s fire department and a fire engine on standby for the festival’s fireworks finale.
