The City of Frederick is excited to announce the hiring of Stephanie Chaiken as the new Manager of the Weinberg Center for the Arts. Ms. Chaiken brings a wealth of experience and a passion for the arts, and the City of Frederick is eager to welcome her as a key contributor to the local arts and culture scene.
A Maryland native with an impressive career in both New York and New Jersey, Stephanie Chaiken currently serves as the Executive Theater Manager of the Weinberg Center for the Arts. Her previous role as the Director of the New Jersey City University Center for the Arts showcased her ability to present and market international, national, and regional performing and visual arts programs across seven venues.
Ms. Chaiken’s extensive involvement in the theatrical community and artistic organizations at the community, regional, and national levels, along with her experience in managing arts, education, and theater programs, make her an ideal leader for the Weinberg Center.
Mayor Michael O’Connor expressed his excitement about her appointment, stating, “We are delighted to welcome Stephanie to the City of Frederick and the Weinberg Center for the Arts. The Weinberg Center for the Arts’ Board of Directors echoed Mayor O’Connor’s sentiments in a joint statement, stating: “The Weinberg Center for the Arts is thrilled to welcome Stephanie Chaiken as the new Weinberg / New Spires Theater Manager. Ms. Chaiken’s leadership, depth and breadth of expertise, drive and passion for the arts stood out through each step of the rigorous process of narrowing 30 candidates to one. Her 30+ years of experience in managing arts, education, and theater programs, encompassed with her involvement in the theatrical community and artistic organizations on the community, regional and national levels led to the Board’s unanimous support of her selection.
