GADSDEN, Ala. (WBRC) – The city of Gadsden continues to grow with new places for entertainment as they announced plans earlier this week to develop a new Coosa Harbor.
This new Coosa Harbor development will revitalize a portion of Hwy 411 behind the Arby’s restaurant and will include Mike’s Steakhouse, Ice Cream on the lake, and a few other restaurants.
John Moore, Gadsden’s Director of Community Development, says the new harbor will also boast a 20-unit condominium built beside the harbor for family and multi-living. He says this is a $20-$25 million build that will take 18-24 months to complete.
“This riverfront development.. number one is really two-fold for us. It’s first to stir and to actually bring economic development to Gadsden and the second is to actually bring tourism to Gadsden so, we’re thinking that we’ll be bringing people from 90 miles around to come to Gadsden and stay the weekend with us,” said John Moore.
Moore says this project will begin in 8-12 months.
