Needle Felting a Scene: Oct. 14, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., $50, instructor Dorothy Wiese. Learn a few tips and tricks to needle felting but also for the beginner to try the amazing art of working with wool roving to “paint a picture.” All supplies are provided.

Get Creative with Alcohol Ink: Oct. 19, 1 to 4 p.m., $30, instructor Kerry Kolke-Bonk. You will learn the basics of creating with alcohol ink on Yupo, and tiles. All supplies are provided.

Fun with Yupo: Oct. 25-26, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., $150, instructor James Turner. This workshop is intended to give you a variety of ways to approach the unique characteristics of YUPO. We will take advantage of the abstract, flowing ‘liquid’ look of wet in wet application and experiment with stamping, texturing, lifting and even texturing with foam rollers. We will talk about design and how to go from the crazy accidental abstraction of YUPO to finished work in this two-day workshop. A supply list will be provided once registration is received.

Creative Minds Youth Program — The Art Experience: Mondays through Nov. 25, 3:15 to 5 p.m., ages 9-11, $60. CATS Club: Wednesdays, 7 to 9 p.m., $50. The Creating Art Together club encourages adults to explore their creative side with friends. Bring your supplies or if you want to try out a new medium (watercolor, watercolor pencils, oil pastels, soft pastels, graphite, India ink, acrylics, etc.) the Cultural Centre has some supplies available. All are welcome as we explore the use of different mediums while developing skills and learn together. The fee is an annual membership fee.

Mondays We Paint — Vintage Comic Style: Oct. 7, 6 p.m., $10. We meet regularly on Mondays to study a unique subject or technique. The evening will include a review of the materials we’ll use, a simple demonstration and guidance through making a small-format painting. Attendees are invited to ask questions, share your work and participate fully in the workshop. You can use this series as a starting point or as inspiration for your continued painting practice.

Tuesday Night Drawing Club — Goats: Oct. 8, 6 p.m., $10. On Tuesdays we inspire each other while we learn the fundamentals of a continued drawing practice. These lessons are granular, non-linear and based in the essential principles of art: form, line, composition, value, texture, light and shadow. The focus of every exercise is practice – start where you are and learn something new.

Succulent Pumpkin: Oct. 4, 11 and 14, 6:30 to 7:30 p.m., $45. Come out and enjoy an evening with friends while making this beautiful succulent pumpkin centerpiece. Everyone will be able to pick out a collection of succulents to decorate their unique pumpkin with. There will be a variety of different pumpkins and succulents to choose from. Dried Wreath: Oct. 26 and 27, 1 to 5 p.m., $80. Come out and enjoy this lovely wreath making class. We have been busy drying flowers this summer at the farm for the annual dried wreath classes! Choose from a large assortment of dried plants to make your one-of-a-kind wreath to hang at your home. Guided instruction will be given during the process of creating your masterpiece. This class will be limited to 10 people and will last three to four hours. Registration is required.

Beginning Knitting: Oct. 8, 6 to 8 p.m., Jefferson Learning Center; ages 12 and older; instructor Lisa Christianson; $45. In this introductory session, you will learn the basic stitches: casting on, knit stitch, purl stitch, and casting off. Using these skills, you will make the ever-popular first project — a scarf. Required supplies: scissors, a set of size 6 or larger needles, and a skein of worsted weight (4) yarn.

Intro to Macarons: Oct. 12, 1 to 4 p.m., Willmar Senior High School; ages 18 and older; instructor Becca Kazemzadeh; $120 per pair. Learn to make macarons from scratch. This class includes demonstrations and hands-on baking, and you’ll take home all of the macarons you make.

Beginning Crocheting: Oct. 15, 6 to 8 p.m., Jefferson Learning Center; ages 12 and older; instructor Lisa Christianson; $45. In this introductory session, you will make a dish or wash cloth using basic crochet stitches: starting chain, single crochet, half double crochet, and double crochet. Required supplies: scissors, size H crochet hook, and a skein of cotton yarn.

Comedy Writing: Oct. 16, 4 to 6 p.m., virtual; instructor LeeAnne Krusemark; $29. Whether you need to make a dull work presentation more lively, mix laughter with learning in the classroom, or ultimately want to write for print/production or perform your own stand up routine, this fast-paced session will show you how to apply humor to all aspects of your life. You will learn the anatomy of a joke, how to use your powers of observation to sharpen your wit, write different types of jokes, and use humor to entertain and influence people. Informative handouts for future use are included.This is a virtual class. Participants must have audio and visual technology capabilities such as a laptop, tablet, or a smartphone.

Barn Quilt Painting Workshop: Oct. 22, 5:30 to 9:30 p.m., Willmar Middle School; ages 12 and older; instructor Cynthia Buchholz; $45. This four-hour class of guided instruction will take you through the process of barn quilt painting from beginning to completion. You will learn how to create a barn quilt that looks professional and leave with your own masterpiece, ready for hanging. A $60 materials fee is payable to the instructor at the beginning of class. Participants under 18 years old should enroll with a responsible adult.

Let’s Propagate Plants: Oct. 22, 6:30 to 7:45 p.m., Jefferson Learning Center; ages 15 and older; instructor Pamela J. Vruwink; $15. In this hands-on class we will propagate plants by taking fresh cuttings from established houseplants. Course fee includes plant cuttings and growing medium. October students will work with philodendron species.

Stained Glass for Beginners: Oct. 22, 7 to 9 p.m., Nov. 16 and Nov. 23, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., Willmar Senior High School; ages 15 and older; instructor Tom Nelson; $129. Learn all the steps of creating a stained glass window in this three-session class. From cutting to soldering, you will do one copper foil project. Lead assembly techniques will also be demonstrated. At the completion of class, each participant can continue on and create designs of their own. Students will need to purchase supplies and tools for class. Expect to pay $50-100 for your personal supplies and tools; some of these materials may be purchased from the instructor. Some equipment and materials will be provided by the instructor.

Robotics Camp: Thursdays, Oct. 24 through Nov. 14, 3 to 5 p.m., Willmar Middle School; grades 6-8; instructor Beth Teets; $15. This course is designed specifically for middle school students who are curious about technology, engineering, and building things that move. Learn how to build and program your own robot, and then work as a team to problem-solve using robots.
