In response to speculation that he is dating Taylor Swift, two-time Formula One world champion Fernando Alonso posted a video of himself winking while listening to one of Swift’s hit songs.
The 41-year-old Spaniard, who named Michael Schumacher as his biggest F1 rival earlier this month, was first linked romantically to Swift in an Instagram post on the DeuxMoi Instagram account last week. The post quoted an anonymous email that said, “A couple of Spanish magazines have been writing about TS [Taylor Swift] and Spanish F1 driver Fernando Alonso.”
“They say that the couple has been seeing each other for a week now.” Nothing major though, since they both just broke up.”
Swift made headlines when she broke up with longtime lover Joe Alwyn earlier this month. Around the same time, Alonso, who told Mail Sport exclusively last month that he’d love to retire with Lewis Hamilton as his teammate, said he’d broken up with his girlfriend Andrea Schlager.
In his TikTok video, the F1 star sits and scrolls through his phone while Taylor Swift’s hit song “Karma” plays in the background. He looks up and gives the camera a smile.
He wrote “Feeling 33” with a smiley face emoji, which is thought to be a reference to Swift’s song “22.” He also wrote “Race week era” in the text, which is a reference to Swift’s current Eras tour.
The DeuxMoi Instagram post was made in an area where content is marked “for entertainment purposes only” and came with the warning “some of the emails posted are complete BS,” but that didn’t stop fans from getting excited about Alonso’s reaction.
There were many rumors that the 33-year-old and Alwyn, who she met at the Met Gala in 2016, were engaged or secretly married over their six years together.
They didn’t get their picture taken together until 2017, more than a year after they first met. This was in Nashville, Tennessee.
