Town Centre Securities has signed up a sustainable clothing and lifestyle products retailer for its Vicar Lane scheme in Leeds.

Trad Collective Ltd will open on 10 December 2023 offering second-hand clothing and locally-made lifestyle products from independent brands.

Originally established in Headingley, Trad Collective has chosen the central location of Vicar Lane to expand its footprint, offering a larger space to showcase its range of sustainable clothing and lifestyle goods.

The retailer offers services include tailoring, mending, alterations, upcycling, and made-to-order clothing, reflecting the company’s commitment to environmentally conscious and ethical fashion.

Trad Collective Ltd will initially be run by Jo Wanner and her partner, James Fenwick. Wanner has a background in fashion design, while Fenwick, formerly a physics teacher, has joined the business full-time to support its growth. The store currently has two employees, with plans to hire one or two part-time staff members after the grand opening.

Jo Wanner said: “We are incredibly excited to open our doors at Vicar Lane. Our aim has always been to make sustainable and stylish choices accessible to everyone, and this new store gives us the opportunity to take that mission to the next level.

“We look forward to providing a diverse selection of sustainable products, showcasing local artisans and creating a vibrant community of conscious consumers.”

Charles Newman, associate director for owner of Vicar Lane, Town Centre Securities, added: “We are delighted to welcome Trad Collective Ltd to Vicar Lane. Their unique approach to sustainable fashion aligns with our commitment to provide diverse and innovative offerings to the city’s discerning shoppers. We believe their presence will further enhance the shopping experience at Vicar Lane and contribute positively to the local community.”
