Columbus police officer returning from call helps woman deliver baby in car


A Columbus police officer who was returning from a call ended up helping a mother in need.A woman flagged down Columbus officer Lauren Foster, saying her daughter-in-law’s water had broken.Officer Foster called paramedics when she got there, but the baby did not wait for the additional help to arrive.Less than five minutes after Foster responded to help, the baby was born.Foster said she called the mother at the hospital later that night and that she and the baby are both doing well.”A lot of my focus was right there on the mom,” Foster said. “I was very focused on trying to make sure the baby was delivered OK.”
