The season kicks off with, “Jesus Christ Superstar.”
ROCKFORD — The Coronado Performing Arts Center kicked off their 2023-2024 Broadway in Rockford season Thursday. The first show of the season was, “Jesus Christ Superstar.”
The season will also include, “Cirque Dreams Holidaze,” December 21st, “Come From Away,” February 6th, and “Pretty Woman: The Musical,” April 12th.
Theatre staff were excited to host Thursday’s show and hoped it was able to draw crowds from far beyond just Rockford with the benefits it offers.
“We do draw from a regional aspect. We do for all our shows. That’s what’s great about Rockford. Plus, you’re not fighting traffic. Good places to park. Close to the venues. Less expensive than some other cities near us,” Doug Johnson, the Assistant General Manager for ASM Rockford said.
