LARAMIE – Laramie, Wyoming was a recent host to the country music star’s newest music video.
The artist recently released her new album ‘Whirlwind’, but the video was in the works long before the album came out.
“I think she just happened to have the time in between her tour, had a couple down days and she was playing CFD (Cheyenne Frontier Days), and I think it just kind of started from there,” said Haylee Russell, the manager of the Cowboy Saloon and Dance Hall in Laramie.
J’s Prairie Rose, the Cowboy Saloon and Dance Hall and the Oxford Ranch are a few places you can spot in the video if you are familiar with Laramie. The sheriff’s department also had an appearance.
It also just so happens that the first time Lainey ever performed in Wyoming was at The Cowboy Bar back in January of 2021. Some even believe that was part of her inspiration behind choosing to film in Laramie.
The once in a lifetime experience gave some Laramie residents an opportunity to be a part of something that is hard to find living in a small town.
“I think, you know, Laramie has a really good way of captivating people. Especially just the small-town atmosphere. I think if that’s what you’re going for in a country song then there’s not a better representative than Laramie,” said Ryder Senior, an extra in the music video.
