STILLWATER – Oklahoma State’s women’s tennis team remained at No. 3 in the latest ITA rankings that were released on Wednesday.
This marks the Cowgirls second consecutive week at the No. 3 spot, which continues to be the highest ranking in program history, and extends OSU’s streak to 35 consecutive weeks of appearing in the ITA rankings.
Oklahoma State is coming off a 2-0 trip to Des Moines, Iowa, for ITA Kickoff Weekend, first defeating then No. 12 UCLA before routing Old Dominion. With the two wins, the Cowgirls advanced to the ITA National Indoor Championships that will be played in Seattle, Washington, from Feb. 8-12.
After collecting three wins on the weekend, Anastasiya Komar was named the Big 12 Player of the Week on Tuesday, becoming the third consecutive Cowgirl to win the award. Komar clinched the match against UCLA with a comeback victory over the 2023 NCAA singles champion Tian Fangran, while also going 2-0 in doubles on the weekend.
With three top-15 wins already on its resume, OSU now prepares to host No. 6 Pepperdine in another top-10 battle. The Cowgirls and the Waves will meet on Saturday at 11 a.m. at the Greenwood Tennis Center in Stillwater.
