Cruz Beckham is preparing to make his own musical waves very soon.
The 19-year-old third child of David and Victoria Beckham has spent a small sum honing his craft with industry pros in order to follow in his mother’s footsteps as a Spice Girl.
“The plan is to launch this year to let people hear what he has been working so hard on for years,” a music insider told The Sun, noting that there is a lot of pressure to be the best.
“There is a lot of excitement around him as a singer but he is also acutely aware that he really needs to prove himself,” a person familiar with the matter said. “So, he isn’t just accused of being a nepo baby, which is why he has spent so long perfecting the music.”
The insider went on to say that “a fortune has been spent on getting him in rooms with some of the best brains in the business and the results are promising.”
Cruz secured a large management agreement two years ago and has been working with composer Ed Frewett, who has written successes for Little Mix such as Shout Out To My Ex and Black Magic, The Wanted’s All Time Low and Glad You Came, and One Direction’s Best Song Ever, Steal My Girl and History.
Fred Ball, a producer known for working with Rihanna, Beyonce, and Mariah Carey, as well as engineering songs for Ed Sheeran, is also involved in the process.
