The Cucamonga Valley Water District is inviting the community to donate canned foods in its Succulents for Soups event, running through Dec. 8.

People may drop off donations of canned foods during business hours in the district’s customer service lobby, at 10440 Ashford St., Rancho Cucamonga. Those who drop off a donation will receive a succulent plant and a guide that includes water-use efficiency tips, the benefits of water-wise plants and how to care for succulent plants, according to a news release.

The food donations will be given to a local food bank to help those in need during the holidays.
