CUNYAC/HSS Women’s Tennis Player of the Week
Ava Deguzman, Baruch
Jr., Long Beach, Calif. / Long Beach Poly
 
Deguzman had a solid week, winning both of her singles contests while splitting her doubles matches. At No. 1 singles, she recorded a 6-1, 6-1 win against John Jay to break the school record (40) for singles wins with her 41st. She later won 6-0, 6-3 against Stockton for a current Baruch record of 42 total singles victories. She teamed up with Esther Benjamin to defeat John Jay at No. 1 doubles with an 8-2 score.
 
CUNYAC/HSS Women’s Tennis Rookie of the Week
Aishika Yadav, Baruch
Fr., Bayside, N.Y. / Fresh Meadows
 
Yadav went undefeated in both of her singles and doubles contests. At No. 2 singles, she turned in a 6-1, 6-2 win against John Jay and a 6-4, 6-1 against Stockton. She teamed up with Erica Sheludenko at No. 2 doubles to defeat John Jay 8-0 and defeated Stockton by an 8-6 score.


 
The 2023 CUNYAC/HSS Women’s Tennis Championship is scheduled for October 24 through October 26. The four-team, single-elimination tournament begins with first round action on Tuesday, October 24 at the USTA National Center, concluding with the championship match on Thursday, October 26 at the Flushing facility.
